Greetings from Virginia! A handful of us in the Old Dominion have been tossing about the idea of starting a statewide guild. Any thoughts, suggestions, ideas on "mission statements," organization, etc. would be most welcome!

Thanks!

Jim

Hey there Jim!
Welcome to the MGL/OLF

We have our MGL meets 4 times a year at Bryan Galloups place in Big Rapids MI. We use this forum as our main connection. There is also a small website that I try to maintain, although ive slipped a bit lately

If you do get a group going, we'd be happy to host a dedicated forum right here at the OLF for your group. I have extended this invitation to a few other regional guitar building groups but so far there has been no interest.

Best of luck!
LanceK

Hi Lance,

Thanks very much ... very generous offer. Any costs/suggested donations associated with OLM hosting a state/regional forum?

I suppose the best way to start is simply announce the formation of a new group, an organizational meeting time and place, and see what sticks ...

Vandercook Lake, eh? My Mom taught HS there; they live in Summit Township. I'm up there with some regularity, especially during salmon season ...

Thanks again, Lance.

Best,

Jim

HI Jim
No cost at all, we'd be happy to host it for you.
Yes sir Vandercook lake! I too live in Summit township. VC schools are the #1 reason we moved out of the city of Jackson and into that district. We could not be happier.
Give me a holler next time your around.
Also, just let me or Brock know when your up and running with your group and well get your forum up.

Lance

Thanks, Lance. I'm actually headed up your way the weekend of June 24, but it's a quick trip ... my parents 50th anniversary. They are having it over at the Cascades Manor House. I'd love to visit sometime ... perhaps September?

Dave, thanks for the offer, and I'll certainly keep it in mind. This thing is just an idea at the moment, but it does seems to be gathering some, er, momentum ...

Thanks again, Lance. I'll keep you posted.

Best,

Jim
